A 10kWh battery powering an average home (lights, fridge, TV, phone charging — around 1.5 kW average load) will run for 6–8 hours. If you have solar panels generating during the day, the battery will continuously recharge and could keep your home running indefinitely.
Yes, in most cases. If your existing inverter is battery-compatible (Sungrow, Fronius, SolarEdge, GoodWe), we can add storage to it with minimal changes. If it is not compatible, we can install a hybrid inverter alongside your existing system. We will assess your setup during the free site inspection.
Yes. The NSW Cheaper Home Batteries Program offers up to $1,600 off eligible battery installations. You must be an existing solar system owner or be installing solar and battery together. SimpliSolar handles all eligibility checks — see our dedicated rebate page for full details.
Modern lithium batteries are rated for 6,000+ charge cycles, which equates to 15–20 years of daily cycling. All batteries we install carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty and retain at least 70% capacity at warranty end.
A battery alone (no solar) can be useful if you are on a time-of-use tariff — charging cheaply overnight and discharging in peak periods. However, the return is much lower than a solar + battery combination. We always recommend pairing storage with at least a 6.6kW solar system.
