Bloomberg NEF's "Tier 1" classification identifies solar manufacturers that are financially bankable — meaning they have the financial stability to honour a 25-year warranty. SimpliSolar only installs Tier 1 panels because a warranty from a company that no longer exists is worthless.
A 25-year panel warranty is only valuable if the manufacturer is still in business. Tier 1 manufacturers have the financial scale and stability to support warranties decades into the future.
The Clean Energy Council maintains an approved product list for panels and inverters. All products SimpliSolar installs are CEC-approved, which is required for STC rebate eligibility.
