Every SimpliSolar installation comes with layered warranty coverage across panels, inverter, battery, and workmanship. Your investment is protected for decades — not just the installation day.
Warranty Coverage
Solar systems involve multiple components, each with its own warranty. Here is a plain-English summary of exactly what is covered for each part of your installation.
All Tier 1 panels we supply (Canadian Solar, JA Solar, REC) carry a 25-year linear performance guarantee. Panels must produce at least 80–87% of their rated output at year 25. If they underperform, the manufacturer covers repair or replacement at no cost to you.
All panels are warranted against manufacturing defects, including delamination, frame corrosion, and cell failure for 10 years. This covers physical component failure, not just output degradation.
Fronius inverters carry a standard 5-year warranty (extendable to 10 years). Sungrow, GoodWe, and SolarEdge carry 5–10 year warranties depending on the model. All inverter warranties include parts and labour for covered failures.
Alpha ESS, Sungrow, and GoodWe batteries all carry 10-year warranties covering manufacturing defects and capacity retention. Batteries are warranted to retain at least 70–80% of original capacity at the end of the warranty period.
We warrant our installation workmanship for 10 years. This covers: mounting system integrity, electrical connections, roof penetration weatherproofing, conduit and cabling quality, and switchboard connections. If anything related to our installation fails within 10 years, we fix it at no charge.
Exclusions
Understanding exclusions helps you protect your investment and maintain your warranties over time.
Damage caused by hail, fallen branches, foot traffic on panels, or vandalism is typically excluded from product warranties. This type of damage is covered by your home insurance policy — we recommend notifying your insurer when you go solar.
Any modifications to the solar system by a non-CEC-accredited tradesperson will void the workmanship warranty and may void component warranties. Always use a licensed electrician for any electrical work involving your solar system.
Damage caused by power surges originating from the electricity grid may not be covered under inverter warranties. A surge protector can be installed at an additional cost to mitigate this risk.
Solar panels naturally lose output at approximately 0.5% per year. This expected degradation is not a warranty issue. Performance warranties account for this degradation in their guaranteed output curves.
Making a Claim
Call us on 1300 669 646 or email info@simplisolar.com.au with your name, address, and a description of the issue. We are your first point of contact for all warranty matters — you do not need to contact manufacturers directly.
In many cases, inverter faults and performance issues can be diagnosed remotely via monitoring data. Our team will review your system output before scheduling a site visit, often resolving issues without the need for a call-out.
If a site visit is required, we will schedule an inspection with one of our qualified technicians. We assess the fault, confirm whether it is a warranty issue, and lodge the relevant manufacturer claim on your behalf.
Covered warranty claims are resolved at no cost to you, including parts, labour, and travel within the greater Sydney area. For workmanship warranty claims, SimpliSolar covers all costs directly. For manufacturer warranty claims, we manage the process with the supplier.
