A Practical Choice for GoodWe Inverter Owners
GoodWe is one of the world’s larger inverter manufacturers, and many Sydney homes already run a GoodWe hybrid inverter. The Lynx Home U is GoodWe’s low-voltage battery, designed to pair with compatible GoodWe hybrid inverters so the whole system is managed from one brand and one app.
The Lynx Home U is built from 5.4kWh usable modules and can be expanded from one to six modules, from 5.4kWh up to 32.4kWh. That flexibility makes it easy to match the battery to your evening usage rather than buying a fixed size.
GoodWe batteries are quoted per home. If you already own a GoodWe hybrid inverter, adding a Lynx battery can be one of the most cost-effective ways to start storing your solar. We confirm compatibility at the free site visit.

Because it grows in 5.4kWh steps, it is easy to size for small and medium households, with room to expand if your usage grows. A 16.2kWh or 21.6kWh configuration covers the evening peak for many Sydney families.
If your inverter is not a compatible GoodWe model, a different battery or a new hybrid inverter may be better value, and we will show you both options.

Battery Rebate on a GoodWe System
Under the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, a GoodWe battery installed by an SAA-accredited installer earns small-scale technology certificates (STCs) based on its usable capacity. From 1 May 2026 the first 14kWh earns the full rate, capacity between 14 and 28kWh earns 60% and capacity between 28 and 50kWh earns 15%. We claim the certificates for you and take the value off your invoice.

Backup Power Needs a Backup Circuit
A GoodWe system can provide backup power when the hybrid inverter’s backup output is wired to the circuits you choose at installation. It does not supply the whole home by default.
During your site visit we agree which circuits matter most, such as the fridge, lights, Wi-Fi and selected power points, and wire them to the backup supply. We also confirm whether your switchboard needs work and include it in the fixed price.

How much does a GoodWe battery cost?
We quote GoodWe Lynx batteries per home, because the right size and price depend on your existing inverter, backup requirements and site. Your quote shows the full installed price with the rebate applied.
How much rebate does a GoodWe battery get?
A 16.2kWh Lynx Home U installed between May and December 2026 earns around 104 STCs, roughly $4,000, and a 21.6kWh system around 126 STCs, roughly $4,800, at about $38 per STC.
Will a GoodWe battery work with my inverter?
The Lynx Home U is designed for compatible GoodWe hybrid inverters, such as the ES and SBP series. If you have a different inverter, we recommend a compatible battery or a new hybrid inverter.
How many GoodWe modules do I need?
Most households need enough to cover their evening peak, often three or four modules (16.2–21.6kWh). We size from your usage data at the site visit.
Can the GoodWe battery go outside?
Yes. It is rated IP65 for indoor or outdoor installation. We still choose a shaded, ventilated spot to protect performance and lifespan.
What warranty comes with a GoodWe battery?
GoodWe provides a 10-year product warranty and a 10-year performance warranty on the Lynx Home U, and we add our 10-year workmanship warranty.
